What You Will Do as a Plumber Pipe Fitter
As a plumber pipe fitter, you will install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems and fixtures in commercial and residential settings. This includes:
- Installing and repairing pipes, fixtures, and appliances;
- Reading blueprints and building codes to determine plumbing layouts;
- Testing plumbing systems for leaks and other issues;
- Maintaining and repairing plumbing systems to ensure optimal performance;
Job Requirements
- Mechanical background and equivalent experience
- Able to read installation drawings and take measurements, perform threading and grooving
- Able to conduct preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and corrective maintenance related to firefighting installation, valves, deluge, and sprinkler piping.
- Capable of using power tools such as threading/grooving machines, cutting machines such as chasers, and other related power tools
- Good verbal and written communication skills (English)
- Experience in fire pump, fire sprinkler systems, hose reel systems, and/or dry-wet riser
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good physical condition and manual dexterity
